A request from several federal contracts stimulus for black and Hispanic business of government is growing today.  Members of minority groups that own and operate businesses require an improved system that tracks those who receive publicly funded work and be more included in the list to receive assistance incentives.

Obtaining contracts was a major challenge for Hispanics and blacks before the contracts federal stimulus was issued.  Of the 46 billion dollars in federal aid, the Hispanic business owner got only 1.7 percent of black-owned businesses received only 1.1 percent.  These numbers are very low compared to the percentage of businesses owned by blacks and Latinos in the nation.  According to the census, Hispanics own 6.8 percent of all businesses, and by 5.2 percent black.

Improved data tracking system

The data indicate minority status when contracts are awarded to companies are often inconsistent and there is no centralized system that records all information.  In addition, information is not publicly available.  defenders of minority suppliers require more extensive demographic data and information available on incentive contracts.  Ultimately, companies should minorities be followed by the race to receive federal incentive funds.

The equality in contracts for federal stimulus

Further follow-up issues, minority suppliers need a proportionate amount of the stimulus pie.  Currently, competition for incentive contracts and the intense minority has a greater challenge in the competition for the projects.  The reality is that Hispanics and blacks could use more help due to white communities that were hit by the downturn.  In other words, there is higher unemployment in minority communities and additional financial aid to rebuild communities and improve business.

A very small percentage of businesses owned by minorities actually get incentive contracts.  Only 6 percent of U.S. $ 16.9 billion funding the Federal Highway Administration contract awarded to businesses owned by ethnic minorities, women, veterans and disabled.  7.8 percent to $ 1,100,000,000 U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and 8.6 percent of the money from the direct stimulation of the Department of Transportation went to companies at a disadvantage.  Although the money is spent on these companies, the numbers are still low.

Minorities are really staying away from contract work and is an attempt to ensure that minority workers who do not work without return.  They allow the minority contractors to apply for government tenders, but when you qualify and do the job, sometimes the end calls for no apparent reason.  To obtain federal government contracts to encourage and in fact they are now other minorities against provocation.

To solve the problem of disproportionate federal incentive contracts, plan the Obama administration to large contracts to be more accessible.  Increased subsidies, provided that the programs in the short-term loans and promised $ 20 million in grants to small businesses owned by minorities.  It is also an attempt to help spread knowledge about the federal incentive contract opportunities through national events.  By increasing the potential for government tenders to minority suppliers, there is less poverty, drugs, crime and unemployment in these communities.
